Every business unit has their own application resulting in multiple standalone applications to manage employee data. No Self-Service access for employees and managers resulting in lots of manual work and impacting user experience.

Samuel, Son & Co is an integrated network of metal manufacturing, processing and distribution divisions. Samuel provides access to metals, industrials productions and related value-added-services for North American business.

Samuel, Son & Co. had deployed and was utilizing Oracle HCM Cloud applications within their locations in Canada. The Canadian deployment of Oracle HCM Cloud included Core HR, Absence Management, Benefits, Payroll and Taleo Recruiting. In addition to Canada Samuel, Son & Co. has operations in the United States. The US operations has been growing though acquisition resulting in various tools to support HR processes resulting in inconsistent and inefficient processes. This is not sustainable long term for Samuel, Son & Co. which leads to the requirement to move all HR Functions to a single platform.
The objectives of this initiative are to extend Oracle HCM Cloud for HR, Benefits, Absence Management, Talent Acquisition Cloud to the US entities and implement a cluster of Talent

Management solutions and the Workforce Compensation solution for both the US and Canada. Manager and Employee Self Service will improve efficiencies and empower the workforce by giving them more autonomy and control and will be enabled across both geographies as well as part of this proposal. The single solution provides a single source of information for leadership to manage the business. The solution must be implemented prior to US Benefits open enrollment in November of 2019.
The implementation of Oracle Cloud applications, including HCM, Talent, Compensation, Benefits and Absence, also included workflow, self-service, mobile access, and custom security roles to separate access to the different business units while implementing the solution in a global single instance. Since every business unit have their own application to manage so the solution was built focusing on bring employee data from different applications to a single module and integrate with a 3rd party payroll provider to send all the payroll related data including company codes. Enabled employee and manager self-service keeping exceptional user experience in mind and provide self-service tutorials for learning about the application without formal training.
The implemented solutions resulted in streamlined, automated processes with efficiencies and improved data integrity. Also, workers gained efficiencies using mobile devices for recording an absence, viewing their Payslips, updating family and emergency contact and completing their performance goals. For managers approving workflows such as approving performance goals, absence request and viewing talent profile for their direct or indirect reports. Implemented Career Development to manage and track development goals improving the talent development. It helped in conducting Talent Review meetings identifying top talents. As well as it helped Talent Management team to build succession management to find the incumbents for critical roles resulting in a strong business continuity plan.

With the implementation of Self Service, the organization automated a lot of transactions that were used to be completed manually. With a centralized application, the executives of the organization were able to get a complete view organization growth in terms of new hires, terminations and achievement of performance goals.

Green Mountain – Higher Education industry.  An education consortium is a collaborative endeavor of three Vermont Colleges: Champlain College, Middlebury College, and Saint Michael’s College. Partnered together to find ways to collaborate in administrative services common to all three institutions.

Green Mountain Higher Education Consortium is a consortium of three Vermont colleges: Champlain, Middlebury and St. Michael’s, all three ranked among the top national liberal arts colleges in the U.S. Partnered together, their goal was to find ways to collaborate in administrative services common to all three institutions, in order to create greater efficiency and help reduce costs over the long term while increasing service levels for the member institutions. Project ENSEMBLE was the Digital Transformation program to fulfill the mission of the Consortium to improve services and reduce overall costs for the member schools, by replacing the current legacy systems with an integrated Oracle Cloud ERP Financials and HCM solution that supported all business processes.
Project Ensemble included an initial project to provide advisory services to review and provide feedback and recommendations in support of the development of new business processes, referred to as BPRR (Business Process Reimagine and Redesign). BPRR was an enterprisewide, cross-institution project that evaluated and re-imagined each business process in a shared environment and, where applicable, as a shared service, and redesigned processes for HR, Finance, IT and data governance in advance of the new system implementation. BPRR was followed by the implementation of Finance and Procurement, followed by the implementation of HCM and Payroll. The implementation also included multiple integrations, workflows, custom security, and reporting.
The implementation of Oracle Cloud applications, including Finance, HCM, and Procurement, also included workflows, selfservice, mobile access, and custom security roles to separate access to the colleges while implementing the solution in a global single instance. Solutions were developed to address and automate special pay (i.e., stipend, grants, etc.), notifications not possible through workflow, nonresident alien tax treaty benefits, school year student taxation, and special absence management needs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With Oracle HCM Cloud as the system of record for worker data, the solution included custom integrations with multiple downstream systems and thirdparty benefit and tax compliance providers. The roll-out also included shared services models for Accounts Payable, Benefits, and Payroll functions.
The implemented solutions resulted in streamlined, automated processes with efficiencies and improved data integrity gained by the institutions. Also, workers gained efficiencies using mobile devices for time entry, workflow notifications, and other self-service actions. With the implemented workflows, the institutions have witnessed decreased time in processing what used to be paper-based approvals. Furthermore, the implemented platform enabled the institutions to remove disparate systems, utilizing a shared solution on a single platform, gaining efficiencies in support needs and documentation, further reducing total cost of ownership. Finally, the solutions deployed are scalable, and with the gained efficiencies, the institutions are better positioned to more quickly deploy new functionality as available via the cloud release.
